Full time: 37.5hrs pw
Shift times: Monday –Friday (Days will be split between The Princess Grace Hospital and The Harley Street Clinic)
Permanent contract

The Princess Grace Hospital is recruiting for an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to join the team!

About the role:
The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Nurse is a key role, part of our HCA Healthcare UK Infection Prevention and Control team, that supports our acute care facilities in delivering exceptional care.
This role is based primarily at The Princess Grace Hospital (but working as part of our HCA Healthcare UK team of IPCNs), you will lead the provision of a comprehensive infection prevention and control service.
An effective and visible leader, you will be required to apply your expert knowledge and ability to support the Consultant Microbiologist and the Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC) in assuring compliance with the Health and Social Care Act (2022) Code of Practice.

The primary focus of this post is to lead the reduction, prevention and control of health care associated infections, working with staff, patients and carers through education, engagement, support of the audit cycle and clinical outcomes and specific quality improvement project work.

The post holder will be required to advise on infection prevention and control matters relating to all geographical areas of the campus, including inpatient and outpatient locations, and travel to other HCA Healthcare UK sites as required.

As a subject matter expert, senior nursing leader and reflective practitioner, the IPC Nurse will seek to improve the standard of infection prevention and control through critical analysis of healthcare associated infections, communication with stakeholders, learning from incidents, guiding evidence-based clinical practice, providing expert advice on refurbishments and new builds and being an active lead in joint environmental audits/assessments.

What you will bring:

  1. NMC registered nurse
  2. Infection control diploma or equivalent related qualification (essential)
  3. Expert practitioner in all aspects of infection prevention and control (Extensive experience required)
  4. Responsive, independent practitioner able to prioritise and take necessary actions to contain or eliminate infectious hazards/risks
  5. Clear understanding of the investigation processes for incidents and outbreaks including infection control reviews and PSIRF principles
  6. Good verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  7. Skilled in the use of Word, PowerPoint & Excel to present and communicate information
  8. Attention to detail
  9. Flexibility to respond to the needs of the services
  10. A team player
