ICP Scientist

Campden BRI perform high volume commercial analytical chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritional and health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography, packaging, cereals and ingredients, and wines and spirits.


Our ICP Team provide key technical support and insight to our customers performing metals and Sodium testing using ICP-OES & ICP-MS.


You will be:

  • Scoping and developing client specific analytical projects
  • Method development and improvement of existing methods
  • Maintenance of analytical instrumentation
  • Technical requirements scoping for capital expenditure
  • Technical training of employees and clients
  • Client liaison for technical enquiries
  • Commercial awareness in timely service/project delivery
  • Driving operational efficiency and safe working compliance with business systems


Position

  • Method development, improvement, and optimisation including literature review and validation studies.
  • Instrument maintenance.
  • Development of SOP’s and ancillary documentation.
  • Providing internal training.
  • Internal auditing, technical method reviews and technical input to NCW’s.
  • Reviewing emerging industry issues and technologies.


Your experience:

  • Degree and minimum of 5 years (or equivalent) relevant experience in chemical and analytical sciences post-graduation
  • In depth knowledge on maintenance and troubleshooting for ICP-OES & ICP-MS
  • Knowledge and exposure of method validation to meet ISO17025 requirements
  • Strong knowledge of food science and technology; preferable with food industry experience
  • Broad knowledge of the analytical requirements for the food and beverage industry, to include organic and inorganic analysis of contaminants, nutrients, functional components and allergens.
  • Proven effectiveness in managing timely and cost-effective delivery of technical services/research outputs.
  • Experienced in the requirements of ISO 17025 standards.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, upwards, downwards, and outwards
