HS Manager - Technology – Somerset

We are currently Partnering with a High-Growth, Market Leader in the Modular Cleanroom Design for the Biopharmaceutical sector. Demonstrating success across the UK and EMEA, they are currently seeking a HS Manager to join them on a recently acquired technology construction project in Somerset.

Responsibilities

HSE Leadership Across MEP Activities:

Oversee all health, safety, and environmental aspects of MEP works on a high-risk, fast-paced industrial site — ensuring full compliance with UK legislation, CDM regulations, and company safety procedures.

Risk Assessment & Safe System Implementation:

Develop, review, and manage task-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for mechanical and electrical activities, including high-risk systems like LV works, working at height, and confined space entry.

Site Inspections & Behavioural Safety:

Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings. Drive a positive safety culture by engaging proactively with site teams, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure safe practices are embedded in daily activities.

Incident Management & Reporting:

Lead on-site incident investigations, produce detailed reports, and track close-out of corrective actions. Ensure accurate HSE reporting and communication to project leadership and client H&S teams.

Handover & Commissioning Phase Safety Support:

Provide safety oversight through late-stage installation and commissioning, including energisation procedures, testing activities, and permit-to-work processes — ensuring all handover milestones are met safely and compliantly.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate a stable track record with a Main or Subcontractor background

  • Must have excellent communication skills (Verbal & Written)

  • Must be NEBOSH certified

  • Must have 5+ years’ experience in a similar position on industrial construction projects

    Benefits

    £70,000 - £75,000 – DOE + Package
