About the job

As HR Business Partner, you will manage the HR components of the UK Nuclear Safety businesses to deliver effective HR solutions that support the companies’ goals and objectives. You will help drive talent management initiatives, employee engagement, performance management, and support organisational change. In this role you will be a key member of the UK Nuclear Leadership team and will lead the rollout of global initiatives across the three sites.

Bendalls Engineering designs, manufactures, and services bespoke equipment, vessels, precision components and remote handling systems alongside providing specialist engineering services in the Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport, Pharmaceutical and Renewable industries. They have over 120 years of experience and provide industry leading services to their portfolio of long-standing customers.

    Key responsibilities

    Employee Engagement: Lead implementation of employee engagement surveys, analyse results, and support managers in developing action plans to improve employee satisfaction.

    Employee Relations Support: Assist with addressing employee concerns and issues, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures, and helping to foster a positive work environment.

    HRIS: Maintain employee data for the UK within the HRIS system and effectively manage the compensation process through the system in collaboration with stakeholders, including training.

    Talent Management: Manage Organisational review process and subsequent action plans to build succession talent for key roles. Support recruitment processes by interviewing finalists. Help lead and guide the evolution of the top-notch onboarding process for new hires.

    Performance Management: Collaborate with managers to ensure that performance management processes are effectively implemented, including conducting regular performance reviews and providing feedback.

    Training and Development: Help identify training needs, coordinate learning opportunities, and support leadership development initiatives. Enhance current apprenticeship programs to be the industry leader.

    Apprentices: Align apprenticeship programs with long term talent strategies, ensure a structured and welcoming onboarding experience. Support managers in setting clear expectations and goals. Monitor progress and feedback from apprentices to continually improve offering.

    HR Policy and Compliance: Ensure HR policies and procedures are followed and assist with compliance-related tasks to meet legal and organisational requirements.

    Data Analysis and Reporting: Help track and analyse key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, hiring trends) to inform decision-making and support business goals.

    Change Management: Assist in managing organisational changes and restructuring initiatives by communicating with employees and ensuring HR support throughout transitions.

    Support the Managing Director, in delivering the long-term strategic objectives of the business.

    What you need for the role

  • 3- 5 years HR experience

  • CIPD Qualified or working towards

  • Strong collaborator, with written and verbal skills, ability to interact with people at all levels.

  • Proactive in identifying people-related issues and finding effective solutions.

  • Experience of leading and influencing organisational change across a business

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with business leaders, managers, and employees.

  • A desire to learn and grow within the HR field, with a focus on contributing to the success of the business.
