Youwill be part of a team of three and will be required to providehigh quality secretarial and administrative support to a team ofclinicians, nursing staff and the associated administrative team.This job is varied and rewarding. The successful applicant willwork within a well-established dedicated team who care about theirpatients and their families and the service they deliver. Previousexperience as a medical secretary or work within a clinical settingwould be advantageous. However, this position would also besuitable as a development opportunity for a band 3 junior secretarylooking for a role with greater responsibility. You will need to bea good team player and be happy working with a broad range ofpeople, with different skills. You will need to demonstrate thatyou can act on your own initiative, with kindness and empathy andthat you are committed to providing the highest possible standardof service to our patients, families and to both our internal andexternal colleagues. Main duties of the job The Gastroenterologydepartment is well recognised as a leading centre of advancedpaediatric gastrointestinal medicine, clinical research, andteaching. The aim of the department is to provide a high standardof care for children with complex gastroenterological diseases. Itis divided into 3 sub-specialities: Neurogastroenterology andmotility, mucosal immunology, and intestinal rehabilitation.Children are seen either as inpatients on Squirrel Ward or as daycase or short stay patients on Kingfisher Ward, where we also haveour investigation suite.
