Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per year
Hours: 36.25 per week (Monday to Friday, 08:45 - 16:30)

We are seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and improving our safety culture.

Your Role

Reporting to the Safety, Health & Environmental Manager, you will:

Assist Production and Engineering Management in developing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Maintain and improve the site's environmental management system.
Conduct SHE inspections and audits, ensuring corrective actions are followed up.
Support the development of Site Safety Meetings and SHE communications.
Review, write, and implement health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Advise, coach, and mentor employees on their health & safety responsibilities.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, maintaining the SHE Incident log.
Support the delivery of SHE training and competency management.
Maintain regulatory compliance logs and ensure COMAH and fire risk assessments are up to date.

What We're Looking For

Health & Safety experience in manufacturing (high-hazard industries or chemical/CoMAH preferred).
Strong risk assessment and incident investigation skills, including root cause analysis.
Experience in auditing, reporting, and writing safety procedures.
NEBOSH Certificate (essential).
Good knowledge of current SHE legislation and regulations.
Awareness of Process Safety, Human Factors, and Behavioural Safety (advantageous).
