Our client, a dynamic independent healthcare organisation, delivers complex, specialised services to the NHS and major corporates across the UK. They’re on the lookout for aHead of Laboratory Solutions & Optimisation -a seasoned Biomedical Scientist (HCPC registered) who’s walked the lab floor, led high-performing teams, and driven meaningful change.


The successful candidate will be an experienced leader in the lab space as the focus of the role is the design, development and optimisation of labs – they need both a leader of people and an SME. You will also need experience in service transformation, have financial acumen and excellent stakeholder management skills. In terms of personality, my client needs someone who is assertive, a visible leader, an SME and who wants to coach and develop their team.

  • Leading the design, development and optimisation of cutting-edge lab services
  • Coaching and inspiring cross-functional teams to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Driving service transformation while balancing operational excellence and cost-efficiency.
  • Influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders across the healthcare landscape.

  • A solid lab operations background with hands-on pathology experience.
  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • A proven track record in leadership, laboratory redesign and process improvement.
