We are pleased to be recruiting a temporary Microbiologist / Molecular Biology on behalf of our industry leading client, who manufactures world famous consumer household brands & personal hygiene products. Working with a global, multifunctional team, developing and applying new capability to solve technical challenges. This is for an assignment to span 6 months from 1st July 2025

What you will be doing:

Conducting and assessing the practical application of solid-phase cytometry and Next-Gen Sequencing techniques in a manufacturing setting, with a focus on their implementation in product quality and manufacturing processes. Work seamlessly within a manufacturing plant lab environment contributing to overall safety and quality culture. Working effectively within a global, multifunctional team. Developing and applying new capability to solve tough technical challenges. Further development of technical leadership skills.

The ideal candidate

BSc/MSc. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology or Bioanalytical, or a closely related discipline, with a proven lab focus.

You will be Skilled in a range of modern methods ideally including cytometry and Next-Gen Sequencing, and traditional microbiology methods. Experience of the generation of quality data and statistical analysis in a GMP lab.

With:

Critical thinking & problems solving skills. The ability to break down problems into hypothesis and develop clear technical learning plans using the scientific method and deliver against them, turning data into learning's.

Strong communications skills with clear and concise written & verbal communication. Expectation is to develop validation quality data and be able to write external publications relative to the technique. Ability to influence critical decisions in technical teams.

The Hours:

Monday to Friday

08:00 to 16:00

or

09:00 to 17:00

The Location:

Grays, Essex, RM20

Some travel required occasionally for training to Reading, Berkshire

About you:

Collaboration - Mature, professional constructive behaviour when interacting internally and externally. Ability to partner effectively with multifunctional groups.

Specific skills:

Microbiology Laboratory experience

GMP lab preferably

Specific qualifications required :

BSc/MSc in Microbiology/Molecular biology, Bioanalytical or closely related life science, strong technical mastery, experience in a Microbiology laboratory. Previous experience of working in a GMP laboratory would be beneficial.
