The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the end-to-end logistics operations for our injectable and energy based medical device manufacturing and sales activities. The role will involve overseeing logistics activities globally to support our supply chain, ensuring timely delivery, to support inventory management to meet production and customer demands globally. The Logistics Manager will report directly to the Head of Injectable Manufacturing and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations across the business.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Logistics Operations Management:
    Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all logistics activities related to the transportation, storage, and distribution of injectable products and medical devices.
  • Supply Chain Coordination:
    Work closely with the production, procurement, Demand Planning and commercial operations to align logistics strategies with operational needs, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials and finished products.
  • Inventory Management:
    Support the management and optimisation of inventory levels for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging supplies. Ensure that inventory is aligned with demand forecasts while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Vendor and Carrier Management:
    Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, transportation companies, and warehousing partners to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    Ensure that all logistics operations comply with relevant regulations, including those specific to the injectable and medical device sectors. Oversee the preparation and submission of required documentation, such as import/export documents, customs forms, and shipping labels.
  • Cost Control and Budgeting:
    Develop and monitor the logistics budget, ensuring that costs are controlled while maintaining a high level of service quality. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within logistics operations.
  • Risk Management:
    Identify potential risks within the logistics process (e.g., delays, damaged goods, temperature control excursions or supply chain disruptions) and implement mitigation strategies to minimise operational impact.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Lead efforts to improve logistics processes, workflows, and technologies to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting and Analysis:Regularly report on logistics performance, inventory levels, shipping costs, and any issues impacting operations. Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership on key logistics

Your skills and experience

  • Knowledge of Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and relevant regulations for medical devices and pharma products.
  • Experience with ERP/logistics management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems).
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or manufacturing industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, inventory management, and transportation systems/networks.
  • Experience working with global logistics operations, including compliance with international regulations, import/export, tax and shipping standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and improvements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global, and dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
