Finishing Manager | Leading Main Contractor | High-Profile Projects

We are thrilled to be recruiting on behalf of a leading main contractor currently delivering some of the region’s most prestigious projects across the Pharmaceutical, Commercial, and Automotive sectors. They are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Finishing Manager, ideally with a trades background, to ensure flawless execution across all final stages of construction.

About the Client

Our client is a respected and forward-thinking contractor with a robust pipeline of work across multiple sectors. With a commitment to quality and excellence, they are looking to strengthen their team with a Finishing Manager who brings technical know-how, leadership, and an unwavering eye for detail to every project.

The Role

As Finishing Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the finishing phase, working closely with the wider project team to deliver snag-free, high-quality handovers. You’ll coordinate multiple finishing trades and ensure that all works are completed to the highest standards, in line with the programme and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities



Manage and coordinate all finishing trades, including painting and decorating, flooring, carpentry, ceilings and partitions, M&E, and external works.

Develop and maintain finishing programmes to ensure timely delivery and seamless trade coordination.

*

Carry out frequent quality inspections, proactively identifying and resolving defects and snags.

*

Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, site teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to ensure alignment and clear communication.

*

Drive performance and quality across all finishing subcontractors.

*

Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and health and safety standards.

*

Maintain a comprehensive snagging list and lead its prompt resolution.

*

Support the management and successful handover of finished areas to the client.

*

Monitor site progress and flag any deviations from the programme.

*

Ensure all finishing materials are delivered and installed to specification and quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

*

Demonstrated experience as a Finishing Manager or Site Manager, ideally on large-scale commercial or technical projects.

*

Background in a trade is highly desirable.

*

Strong knowledge of finishing materials, methods, and quality benchmarks.

*

Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.

*

Confident problem-solver with a proactive approach to challenges.

*

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and influence subcontractor teams.

*

In-depth knowledge of health and safety practices in construction.

*

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

*

Valid CSCS card.
