Field Service Engineer – Packaging

Location UK wide can be based anywhere with reasonable motorway links

Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Coventry, Oxford, Leicester, Sheffield

Starting salary circa £45,000 – 55,0000 basic + car + overtime + private health care + 8% pension + 33 days holiday + training + credit card, fuel card, expenses, allowances

Paid door to door, typical earnings £60 – 80k

Hours Monday to Friday

The Job:

  • Varied work including service, maintenance, installations, upgrades and occasional breakdowns for packaging machinery.

  • Read mechanical and electrical drawings / schematics, fault finding, diagnostics, repair, installations.

  • Working with servo drives, pneumatics, conveyors, gears and sprockets, fault finding on PLCs.

  • Educate customers on use and maintenance.

  • Order spare parts, complete reports and records, build relationships with customers.

    The Person:

  • Multiskilled maintenance or service experience.

  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings / schematics as well as understand pneumatics and basic PLC understanding.

  • Flexible to travel and stay away from home 3 nights per week on average

  • Health & safety and hygiene focused, friendly, proactive, good communication, desire to learn and improve.
