Key Responsibilities: As a Fertility Consultant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care throughout their fertility journey. Your responsibilities will include:
Compliance & Standards: Adhere to the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority (HFEA) Code of Practice and CQC Regulations, ensuring the highest ethical standards in every aspect of care.
Patient Care Excellence: Provide compassionate, personalized care, ensuring that each patient’s experience is respectful, supportive, and focused on their individual needs.
Confidentiality & Data Protection: Maintain discretion and confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), safeguarding patient information at all times.
Team Collaboration: Foster effective communication with all members of the Unit, ensuring a seamless patient journey without discrimination or bias, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Patient Relationships: Establish trust-based relationships with patients and their families, respecting all confidential information in accordance with HFEA guidelines.
Clinical Reporting: Report any concerns regarding patient care to the medical team promptly, ensuring timely and appropriate action is taken.
Leadership & Motivation: Inspire and support a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, maintaining a high level of morale and dedication to the patients we serve.
Ethical Standards: Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in clinical practice, research, and education, ensuring that care is patient-centric and evidence-based.
Research & Innovation: Engage in clinical research, applying findings to enhance patient care and contribute to the clinic’s goals and objectives. Lead service development and improvements.
Clear Communication: Provide patients with clear, accurate information about their treatment options and associated costs, in line with the CMA (Competition & Markets Authority) Guidelines.
Surgical Expertise: Perform oocyte retrieval (egg collections) and embryo transfers with skill and precision, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
Compassionate Communication: Possess exceptional bedside manner, able to communicate sensitive information with empathy, tact, and professionalism.
Continuous Improvement: Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of treatment outcomes through clinical audits, addressing complaints, learning from near-misses, and using comparative data to improve patient care.
Ongoing Development: Commit to professional growth by participating in ongoing training and development to keep your skills and knowledge current.
Additional Qualifications & Skills: In addition to your clinical expertise, we are looking for candidates who possess: Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive service improvements.
A passion for original research, with a commitment to publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
The ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment, with a focus on achieving high-quality outcomes for our patients.
Clinical Responsibilities (Rotational): As part of this role, you will be responsible for a variety of clinical duties, including but not limited to: Outpatient clinic consultations
Theatre sessions
Treatment room procedures (embryo transfers, IUI, hysterosonography, dummy embryo transfers)
Ultrasound scanning sessions
Evening reviews of blood test results and treatment plans
Mini consultations and open evening sessions
