About the role:
Create a great experience for our employees and partners using our facilities in London and Stevenage by managing our reception team and overseeing a safe, efficient, professional, and welcoming environment. This role will also play a crucial part in planning for our new building in Kings Cross, where we will bring together our teams currently in London and Stevenage in a new building due to open in 2027.
About you:
Lead a team of four staff members split between Stevenage and London, ensuring adequate cover (e.g., during annual leave and sickness) and consistently high standards across both sites.
Manage relationships with building management and suppliers of facilities services (e.g., cleaning, catering), ensuring high levels of service and value for money.
Hold budget responsibility for all equipment and services required within the facilities function.
Play a lead role in planning for a site move from Lynton House and Stevenage to a single building in Kings Cross, scheduled for 2025.
Lead any site adaptations, including liaising with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Work with the reception team and other functions to provide value-added administrative services during any downtime the team may have.
Support LifeArc events held on-site (e.g., town hall meetings, meet the board sessions, and occasional events).
Ensure a healthy and safe environment at Lynton House and for the non-laboratory areas in Stevenage.
Education & experience required:
Significant experience in overseeing facilities management, including people management.
Experience managing health and safety.
Experience with office moves and contributing to the design of new facilities.
Skills & abilities:
Highly organised.
Enthusiastic and flexible.
Highly personable.
Strong influencing skills and stakeholder management.
Self-motivated and able to self-manage.

Salary will be determined by qualifications and experience along with other exceptional benefits.
