CK Group are recruiting for an External Innovation Manager, to join a well-established and successful global pharmaceutical company, based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, on a permanent basis.

Role:

This role will contribute to the enrichment of the Biology Discovery pipeline, through collaboration with external academic and biotech partners in the UK and Europe. 

The main purpose of the job will be to:

Provide an alliance management function for key research collaborations.
Scout scientific innovation opportunities in the EMEA region.
Perform scientific evaluation of collaboration and investment opportunities.
Identify alternative funding schemes and develop novel collaborative models to facilitate research.
Key duties will include:

Alliance management.
Contribute to contractual negotiations and budget management.
Provide scientific evaluation of potential in-licensing and external innovation opportunities.
Establish internal network and understand research and technology requirements.
Develop external network to source opportunities consistent with the company's Discovery strategy.
Contribute to external assessment of environmental landscape.
Contribute to reporting progress on research collaborations and scouting activities.
Your Background:

PhD or equivalent experience in biological science and a working knowledge of the neurological disease area and drug discovery process.
Experience of working in an industry-academic scientific collaboration, preferably in the context of drug discovery.
A broad appreciation of emerging technologies, new modalities and biomarkers would be an advantage.
