About Commercial

Our Commercial organization leads our global sales and marketing strategies around the world. Our integrated team continues to solidify BioMarin’s commercial presence in the United States and Europe and is rapidly growing in other regions, such as Latin America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

Job Summary

The Head of Global Pricing for BioMarin will lead a team of pricing experts utilizing their collective expertise in pricing analytics, healthcare systems, innovative pricing models and international pricing regulations to develop and govern Global pricing strategies. The Head of Global Pricing will work in collaboration with our Global Access Leads, US Leads and other internal Commercial business partners and in alignment with our company's global access and corporate objectives. The selected candidate will support the implementation of such strategies by Country Access Teams. The role will be crucial in driving our mission to make life-changing therapies accessible to patients worldwide at prices that represent their value appropriately and that enable us to develop future groundbreaking medicines.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop Pricing Strategies:
  1. Collaborate with Global Access Leads to develop and refine pricing strategies that support our global access goals.
  2. Ensure alignment of pricing strategies with the overall business objectives and market conditions.
Analytics and Insights
  1. Conduct in-depth pricing analytics to understand market dynamics and competitive landscape that allow us to set up prices for our medicines in alignment with their value to patients, healthcare professionals and healthcare systems around the world.
  2. Develop and implement pricing models to forecast and optimize pricing outcomes.
  3. Monitor and analyze pricing performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  4. Develop and utilize models for IRP, tender planning and gross to net monitoring and governance.
  5. Provide input assumptions and insights in support of launch sequence planning and business development (BD) efforts.
Governance and Compliance
  1. Establish and manage pricing governance frameworks to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  2. Implement robust processes to ensure pricing decisions are well-documented and auditable.
  3. Work with legal and compliance teams to navigate regulatory requirements and challenges.
Supporting Country Access Leads:
  1. Provide guidance and support to Country Access Leads in the implementation of global pricing strategies, value-based pricing and other innovative pricing models.
  2. Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination across markets.
  3. Ensure pricing strategies are adapted to local market conditions while maintaining global consistency.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  1. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders including Global Access Leads, Country Access Leads, marketing teams, and senior management.
  2. Engage with external stakeholders such as payers, healthcare providers, and industry associations to understand market needs and advocate for appropriate pricing strategies.
Reporting and Communication:
  1. Prepare and present pricing reports and insights to senior management and other stakeholders.
  2. Communicate pricing strategies and rationales effectively across the organization.
Qualifications:
  1. Advanced degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in pricing strategy from either within a biotech or pharmaceutical company or a consultancy supporting a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  3. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  4. Excellent understanding of global market dynamics and regulatory environments.
  5. Demonstrated experience in governance and compliance within a pricing context.
  6. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  7. Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Workstyle - Hybrid:
  • Hybrid requires being on site in London, 2x each week. Onsite days are typically Wednesdays & another day of choice.
