The Opportunity

We are an international market leader in cleaning, security and soft services operating from regional offices UK wide, serving clients in sectors that include Commercial, Corporate, Pharmaceutical, Retail, Manufacturing and Education.

We currently have a vacancy for a full time, permanent ESG Officer for the London region. The ESG Officer is responsible for developing and implementing robust ESG initiatives across strategic client sites, with a primary focus on one of our city key account portfolios’. This role blends strategy, client relationship management, and on-the-ground delivery, requiring a strong grasp of ESG principles and the ability to translate them into credible, measurable, and value-aligned actions

The Package

  • 45-50k Basic depending on experience and accreditations + 5k travel allowance

  • Bonus

  • 35 days holiday (inc Bank Holidays)

  • Flexible working (expectation is 2-3 times per week in London City)

    The role of the ESG Officer

  • Develop and implement bespoke ESG strategies tailored to site-specific or client-specific needs, including any ESG KPIs agreed during bids or contractual renewal.

  • Align local actions with broader corporate ESG goals, including our Global Planet 2030 programme where relevant.

  • Independently manage and deliver ESG initiatives, balancing client priorities with internal goals.

  • Serve as an ESG advisor and representative in client-facing forums, helping shape material topics and long-term ESG direction.

  • Lead operational carbon accounting (Scope 1, 2, and 3) for machinery, materials, and consumables, in line with SBTi methodologies.

  • Develop and maintain TOMs-aligned social value reporting tools to assess and demonstrate impact. An inquisitive nature that drives continuous learning and exploration of new sustainability practices.

  • Speak at internal or client events to represent ESG priorities and share progress with wider audiences.

  • Develop and deliver social engagement calendars that involve cleaning teams, clients, and service partners.

  • Support Account Directors at other client sites when required to advise on ESG or contribute to bids, reports, or award submissions.

    Experience required

  • Experience in ESG, sustainability, or environmental management (corporate or operational setting) - Essential

  • Experience working directly with clients to shape ESG approaches - Essential

  • Proven ability to develop and implement ESG strategies independently - Essential

  • Strong project management, analytical, and interpersonal skills - Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking – Essential

    Familiarity or eagerness to learn

  • Understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, SBTi, CDP) - Desirable

  • Familiarity with Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon calculations (SBTi-aligned preferred) - Desirable

  • Experience with TOMs framework or social value accounting - Desirable

  • Professional qualification in Sustainability or ESG (IEMA, ISSP, etc) – Desirable
