What we’re doing

Impatient Health is on a mission to upgrade the clinical trial capabilities of big pharma, especially as we enter a new era of AI-enhanced trials. We are launching a new service, designed to help the biggest pharma players upgrade and leapfrog the status quo.

We are looking for someone with deep clinical experience, ideally from within a major clinical trial sponsor, and with a hungry, entrepreneurial never-say-die spirit. You need to be able to thrive on ambiguity, crush roadblocks, and keep your eyes on the prize even when many things are swirling around you.

The role

As our Entrepreneur in Residence, you will:

  • Pioneer the end-to-end development of the project
  • Partner closely with product & technology experts
  • Deliver and facilitate inspirational workshops with senior executives, potentially involving international travel
  • Engage senior stakeholders as the trusted face in the room, translating hard data into compelling stories that move budgets and mindsets.
  • Work to an agile “build-measure-refine” cycle methodology, including rapidly prototyping outreach, iterate based on real-time feedback, and never fear making the pivot.
  • Champion change management across powerhouse sponsors, breaking down silos, surfacing hidden blockers, and rallying teams around a bold new vision.
  • Project manage and communicate well with a variety of stakeholders
  • Work closely with our co-founder and CEO, Paul Simms

What you’ll bring

Must-have:

  • A healthy balance between years of experience and a rejection of the lackadaisical pace in clinical operations, with some experience of trial design, operations, strategy and people management.
  • Proven track record of driving digital-oriented transformation (e.g. DCT, eCOA, eTMF, remote monitoring, AI/analytics pilots).
  • Entrepreneurial grit: you see obstacles as challenges to conquer, not excuses to pause.
  • World-class project coordination skills, able to juggle multiple moving parts without dropping the ball.
  • Polished communication. Unafraid of being on stage, you can build instant credibility with senior execs and ground-level operators.
  • Collaborative mindset: you know when to lead, when to listen, and how to bring the best out of every team.
  • A point to prove. You’re ready to make this one count.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with industry consortia groups (e.g. TransCelerate, DIA, DTRA etc).
  • Familiarity with CDISC standards, API integrations or digital-biomarker deployments.
  • Consulting or vendor experience: a bonus if you’ve “been both buyer and builder.”

Why you’ll love this

  • Entrepreneurial freedom: operating a skunkworks-style venture in partnership with bigger organisations.
  • Impact at scale: Your work will directly shape how the world’s top pharma companies modernize their trials.
  • Uncapped learning: Dive into bleeding-edge AI/agentic applications, data-lake architectures and change-agile culture hacks.
  • Visible success metrics: we measure what matters—maturity-score uplifts, pilot workshop NPS, closed-loop sponsor commitments.
  • Potential for extension: If we hit our targets (and you crush yours), there’s a multi-year runway waiting.

This is not a side gig

It’s full-tilt, buck stops with you, high-focus, zero-fluff. Every meeting matters, every deliverable counts. You will move fast, learn fast, and sometimes sweat. If you’re not comfortable with that, this isn’t the role for you.

Who we are

We believe our company, Impatient Health, is trying to bring something new. Our work is exclusively in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech industries, a sector which tends to think of itself as mature, traditional and conservative in its approach to risk. We’re here to help them become more ambitious, open-minded and creative - because, ultimately, patients demand it. We help them dream, and then turn those dreams into reality.

We are also growing fast. Despite being young (less than 5 years), we have grown some incredible assets, such a- (i) knowing everyone in the industry, (ii) having an ‘independent’ positioning, and (iii) having a CEO who is known as a disruptor & thought-leader. Because of this, we receive many organic approaches from potential clients who are looking for help on a wide variety of projects.

Biotech Jobs Salary Calculator 2025: Pinpoint Your True Worth in the UK Life‑Sciences Market

Why yesterday’s salary guide won’t cut it in today’s biotech landscape “Could I earn more elsewhere?” Every life‑sciences professional has whispered that question—perhaps after seeing a colleague jump to a new start‑up for a chunky raise, or hearing that a peer at a rival pharma company pocketed a surprise bonus. Yet finding a credible benchmark in biotechnology is harder than ever. The sector morphs daily: gene‑therapy breakthroughs spawn new manufacturing lines, government funds pour into north‑of‑England cell‑&‑gene hubs, & Covid‑era mRNA expertise now permeates vaccine, oncology, & even agritech pipelines. Pay bands move with each development; a salary survey printed last year is already a museum piece. To clear the fog, BiotechnologyJobs.co.uk has reverse‑engineered a straightforward, three‑factor formula that estimates an accurate 2025 salary for UK‑based biotech professionals in seconds. Feed in your role, your region, & your seniority, and you’ll have a solid figure to anchor your next pay review or job‑offer negotiation.
