My Client who is a leader in their chosen field is seeking an experienced Engineering Buyer to join their team due to continued growth and expansion.

This role would ideally suit an experienced purchaser who has experience purchasing a wide range of technical and industrial products, components, and services. This role would also suit an experienced operations manager / manufacturing manager who has had exposure to purchasing within their current role and is open to exploring other opportunities.

Engineering Buyer Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or CIPS qualified or relevant supply chain / purchasing / engineering experience.
Ability to read engineering diagrams and understand requirements from a purchasing perspective
Good IT understanding, excellent communications skills, strong analytical and negotiation skills.
LEAN thinking and process driven with a methodical approach.

Personal impact and assertiveness with people at all levels and within all functions
Strategic mindset
Strong collaboration and networking skills
Strong communication skills used to dealing with stakeholders and peers in other countries
Innovative thinker who focuses on improvements

Engineering Buyer Duties:

Lead Procurement activities from concept through to award/contract. Ideally working within the Engineering sector, Professional Services or Technical Services.
Obtain budgetary quotes to support Commercial activities.
Work collaboratively with international stakeholders. Commercial, Technical and Procurement teams, ensuring technical accuracy and competency of the suppliers tendering for the work.
Work within the ISO framework, adhering to Supply Chain Regulatory Compliance.
Effective evaluation of supplier’s offerings, including Quality, Cost and Risk
Risk evaluation and monitoring to advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation.
Strong Negotiation strategy prior to awarding contracts in line with group processes.
Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules.
Coordinating with Logistics and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods and services.
Managing supplier invoice queries.
Prepare internal savings reporting and provide insight to variances.
Investigate Framework opportunities for commodities / Parts / Services
Review existing supplier agreements to consistently re-negotiate or tender as appropriate.
Undertake regular periodic reviews of the suppliers to ensure compliance and quality.
