The

Employee Relations Specialist – UK & Ireland

will provide expert guidance to associates, management, collaborating with wider HR team on Employee Relations matters and casework.

This role ensures compliance with Cytiva’s policies, procedures and employment legislation and involves managing a high-volume caseload consisting of both non-complex and complex cases and promoting best practice on all aspects of Employee Relations.

The role will collaborate with the Danaher Global Labour and Employee Relations Function which provides core labour and employee relations services to Cytiva (LER COE). This role will be the liaison between Cytiva and the LER COE for cases that fall within the scope of the LER COE, including managing the case management database and answering queries that the LER COE may have on a particular case that is being investigated on behalf of Cytiva.

This position reports to the Labour and Employee Relations Director for the UK and Ireland and is part of the Cytiva Global Labour and Employee Relations Centre of Expertise.

The role will be an on-site role that can be based at any of the following locations:

Location One:

Ilfracombe

Location Two:

Newquay

Location Three:

Cardiff

Location Four:

Amersham

What you will do:

Be the first point of contact for employee relations matters, including discipline, grievance, performance management, absence related matters, flexible working and reduction in workforce activities.
Provide clear and practical advice to line managers and collaborate with HR colleagues on the application of Cytiva’s policies and procedures in line with best practice and employment legislation whilst identifying potential employee relations matters before they escalate to formal issues.
Lead and support on formal investigations, disciplinary and grievance hearings and other associate related matters as required.
Coach managers on best practices and building their capability and confidence in handling employee relations matters.

Policy, Procedure and Toolkit Development:

Assist in developing Cytiva’s policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practice.
Develop and create Employee Relations toolkits and standard work, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with evolving legislation in the United Kingdom

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Strengthen our approach to case management reporting through comprehensive data analysis and identifying trends to create targeted action plans that address areas of concern.
Ensuring that all cases are inserted into the Case Management System (ServiceNow) and prepare reports for HR colleagues and Senior Management.

Who you are:

It is an essential requirement for the role that you have multiple years of experience dealing with high-volume and complex Employee Relations casework and managing multiple types of cases simultaneously. You will also have experience using a case management system.
You will have an up-to-date knowledge of employment law and best practices in the United Kingdom with a commitment to staying informed on the latest legal developments.
You will have the ability to handle ambiguity and make informed decisions regarding employee relations matters.
You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and progress a high volume of casework to successful resolution.
You must have a valid driving licence with an acceptable driving record. The role requires travel to all Cytiva sites within the South-West of the United Kingdom (up to 50%)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Working within a manufacturing environment dealing with Employee Relations casework in a blue-collar environment.
Working in an environment that has an internal Employee Consultative Group / Employee Forum and/or a Trade Union.
