Electrical Shift Engineer – Harlow – £50,000–£52,000

Introduction:
A leading facilities management provider is expanding operations on a high-profile site in Harlow and is now looking for experienced Electrical Shift Engineers to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work in a critical environment offering long-term development, training, and stability.

Role Overview:
You’ll be responsible for maintaining and operating key electrical and building services systems across a live critical site. You’ll work a continental shift pattern on days and nights as part of a skilled team.

Key Responsibilities:



Working on a continental shift pattern: 3s, 4s, and 6s (6:30am–6:30pm, days & nights)

*

Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical building services systems

*

Operating and assisting with HV switching (training provided)

*

Maintaining critical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, power distribution, and BMS

*

Responding to faults and emergencies across the site

*

Ensuring compliance with site H&S and engineering standards

*

Supporting site expansions and ongoing infrastructure upgrades

Qualifications & Experience:

*

City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation / Engineering or equivalent

*

18th Edition Wiring Regulations

*

Previous experience in a critical environment (data centres, banking, pharmaceutical, or hospitals)

*

HV experience essential (formal HVAP ticket ideal but not required – training provided)

*

Strong understanding of building services and electrical systems

*

Proactive and professional approach to maintenance and fault response
