OUTSIDE IR35 (or Inside) EC&I Technician to join a leading Chemical Manufacturer based in the Mirfield area, West Yorkshire for a pay rate of between £40 - £50 / hour on a 3 - 6 month contract.

The company is a globally operating manufacturer supplying a stable sector. They are the UK's largest manufacturer of the specialist product manufactured on their site.

To be successful in this position as a EC&I Technician you will have :

  • HNC, HND or degree level qualification in electrical, electronic or control engineering.
  • Hold either an Electrical OR an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation background.
  • Experience working on Heavy / Process Plants (such as Chemical, Pharmaceutical or equivalent).
  • Ideally, holding knowledge of applicable legislation including HaSaWA, COMAH, DSEAR, CompEx and relevant HSE Codes of Practice.

    Responsibilities of the EC&I Technician :

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently.
  • Diagnostic and Repair of equipment such as PLC based control loops, safety systems, SCADA / DCS / PLC and hard-wired control systems.
  • Carry out functional testing of process control systems and routine testing of safety instrumented systems.
  • Record and maintain records of all electrical, control and instrumentation systems across the site, utilising the CMMS system, ensuring they are up to date at all times.
  • Read and extract information from drawings and maintenance manuals.
  • Perform and record risk assessments for routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Work with the project team delivering and commissioning on site projects.
