EC&I Engineer – West Yorkshire – Permanent - £35-45k + overtime + BUPA

Samuel Frank Associates is recruiting for an EC&I Engineer to join a growing West Yorkshire based engineering business. The EC&I Engineer opportunity will suit someone who is keen to progress, for example maybe someone who is ready for their second career job who is looking to develop into an all-round/accomplished EC&I Engineer.

Key aspects of the EC&I Engineer roles will include;

  • Opportunity to learn whilst working alongside Senior EC&I Engineers

  • Awareness of distribution systems and associated calculation methods

  • Carry out LV fault level calculations, protection setting, earthing design and cable sizing under supervision.

  • Preparation of test plans, specification and procurement of test equipment (with support)

  • Awareness of national and international standards for explosive atmospheres (e.g. ATEX)

  • Awareness of common industrial instrument types (pressure, temperature, flow, level, weight, pH) and valves/ valve actuators.

  • Ongoing project work in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors

  • EC&I Engineer role will suit someone with around 2-4 years experience

  • Produce instrument and valve specifications under supervision

  • Experience in all commonly used Microsoft software (Word, Excel etc) and ideally AutoCAD 2D (AutoCAD Electrical nice to have)

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with supervision from Lead EC&I Engineer.

  • Role will be office based in West Yorkshire initially with some trips to site. When the successful EC&I Engineer is up to speed, expect a couple of site visits per month and then the odd week away when commissioning

  • The company will pay 5% into a pension fund if matched by the employee, there’s BUPA cover and paid overtime

    The client’s premises are ideally located and are commutable from Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax and Barnsley with good links to the M1 and M62
