We are recruiting on behalf of one of our fastest growing Biotech clients who are situated out London who are looking for a Director of Bioinformatics.


This role will encompass managing and leading a portfolio development team driving computational biology/bioinformatics as well as developing a platform team to build out company and technological infrastructures, this will in turn support the development of current and future product pipelines.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction for data science initiatives, across all stages of drug discovery, from target ID and validation to translational studies.
  • Work closely with internal and external discovery teams, bio platforms, and external partners
  • Manage and lead a team focused on delivering project-driven analyses across therapy areas.
  • Drive recruitment, mentorship, and career development.
  • Stay current on emerging AI/ML approaches and ensure ML/AI innovations are translated into research.
  • Guide the application of bioinformatics and statistical method


Requirements:

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or similar.
  • 8-10+ years throughout drug discovery, from target identification and validation, to lead discovery and optimization in a Bioinformatics and/or computational biology function
  • Extensive experience across omics, imaging, AI/ML, and statistical modelling approaches
  • Experience with cloud-based computational infrastructure
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead teams.
