The Director, Aftermarket Product Management, is responsible leading a global team of product managers and drive the strategic direction of the aftermarket portfolio. This role is responsible for developing and executing the global aftermarket product strategy in alignment with senior leadership. The Director will oversee the creation of structured product roadmaps, ensure alignment with regional and global customer needs across the instrument lifecycle, and support revenue growth and profitability through value-added aftermarket products and services.
This position reports to the Sr Director, Global Service Strategic Solutions and work remotely .
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Leverages customer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence—gathered through business analytics and Voice of Customer (VOC)—to identify, design, and develop innovative aftermarket products that address customer needs.
Collaborates closely with global product development and commercial teams to ensure successful development and launch of aftermarket offerings that meet or exceed revenue and profitability goals.
Establishes and drives global standard processes for managing aftermarket product roadmaps, instrument lifecycle support strategies, end-of-life planning, and initiatives that promote adoption of new instrument technologies.
Defines and advocates for aftermarket product requirements with cross-functional and regional leadership to secure necessary resources and organizational alignment.
Oversees global performance of the aftermarket portfolio, including pricing strategy, margin expansion initiatives, and implementation of corrective actions in underperforming areas.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product commercialization, including defining product vision and establishing key performance indicators.
Proven track record of managing end-to-end product roadmaps and applying product development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Stage-Gate).
Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment across regional and organizational boundaries.
Experience in strategic planning and lifecycle management for complex or high-impact products.
8+ experience managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed assessments and evaluate organizational impact across multiple levels .
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel – 10% travel, overnight globally
Must have a valid driver’s license and passport
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
MBA
Knowledge of Pharmaceuticals, Bio-Pharmaceuticals industry, mass spectrometry technology and service aftermarket business
Strong project management: Ability to manage multiple projects
