Title: Development Chemist

Scotland

Salary: £35,000- £40,000 per annum DOE

Term: Permanent

SRG is working with Industry leading manufacturer and marketer of personal & home care aerosols based in Scotland. They are now looking for a Development Chemist to join the NPD team. This is a varied role meaning no 2 days will look the same, you would be developing and formulating new products from concept to production, line extensions, manufacturing and scaling up samples, preparation and analysis of samples using wet chemistry testing while ensuring regulatory compliance on all projects. This role would suit candidates with 3+ years industrial experience personal care and home care sector.


Working hours:Monday – Friday 8:30am-5pm, 45hour week


Role / Description

  • Formulation and development of new and existing product lines
  • Manage the development process from the lab through to scale up and delivery
  • Work with the team to sign off artwork, specifications and performance/stability testing on products
  • Review of raw materials to ensure products retain a competitive edge in the market
  • Be involved with client calls, client briefs, client meetings and site visits from potential clients
  • Work as a cross functional member of the team while communicating with different teams within the company
  • Complete a range of testing on products using wet chemistry, stability and performance testing


Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry or Cosmetic Science
  • 3+ years’ experience formulating and developing personal care and home care products
  • Knowledge and understanding of detergents/cosmetic regulations
  • Recent experience working in a busy lab environment
  • Full right to work in the UK – There is no sponsorship available for this role
