Design Engineering Manager – Manufacturing – Staffordshire

Brooklyn Recruitment are currently working with a manufacturer of stainless steel and aluminium food, beverage and pharmaceutical products. These products include conveyors, lifts and platforms. This company is based in the Burntwood area of Staffordshire, close to Lichfield, Cannock and Walsall. They are looking for a Design Engineering Manager / Design Manager.

As Design Engineering Manager / Design Manager you will be supporting and managing a team of around 10 Design Engineers. You will be responsible for the management of the team and also backing them up with more in-depth engineering knowledge! You would also be assisting more junior members of the team with site visits at the beginning of projects, to take measurements and conduct site surveys. Due to all sites having different downtime hours these visits may take place outside of working hours, so may be late or at the weekend.

To be suitable for this role of Design Engineering Manager / Design Manager you should have extensive Design experience gained within a manufacturing environment, preferably from products manufactured from stainless steel or aluminium. You should also have a broad knowledge of motors, hydraulics and pneumatics as well as previously having held a management role.

The hours of work for this Design Engineering Manager / Design Manager’s role are Mon – Fri 9am -5pm but there is some scope for flexibility to start earlier / later.

In return for your hard work as Design Engineering Manager / Design Manager you will be rewarded with a generous salary and holiday allowance and a company pension.
