Controls Engineer – Chesterfield / North Derbyshire – System Integrator - Permanent - £35-65k

Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Controls Engineer with experience of writing PLC software from scratch for a successful Derbyshire based systems integrator. Controls Engineers with experience of Rockwell / Allen Bradley PLCs and the associated SCADA software will be considered favourably, experience of working with any of the major manufacturers will be considered though (Siemens, Schneider or Mitsubishi)

The company operates mainly in the process sector and has PLC software project work in the utilities, water treatment, energy, chemical and pharmaceutical industries on the go.

Key aspects of the Controls Engineer role include;

  • Configure and develop PLC / SCADA software from scratch

  • Understand (and be able to deliver) the project lifecycle from concept through to completion

  • Produce specifications and design documentation

  • Test and commission safely in operational end user environments

  • 80/20 split of being office based and working on site for short periods

  • They're keen to assist Engineers gaining Chartered status and they've moved to a much bigger, modern office which means growing the control system teams, opportunities for career development for Controls Engineer s and working on exciting projects.

  • This role will suit a Controls Engineer who has had the experience of working for a system integrator where full project life cycle involvement is an expectation.

  • The Controls Engineer s work in a brand new, state of the art office space and the company provides the best equipment, as well as a very professional environment for the engineering teams to deliver.

    The office location is commutable from the following places – Sheffield, Derby, Chesterfield, Nottingham, Worksop and Mansfield.
