Job Description

Due to increasing demand and an expanding range of products, we are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a fully experienced or trainee CNC Lathe Programmer/Operator (full training given) to work in our modern and well equipped Machine Shop.

Teledyne Valeport is a world leader in the design and manufacture of monitoring instruments for the offshore, environmental, water treatment and water distribution markets.

All applicants should be comfortable working in a team environment and be willing to work according to the company's Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety policies.

Main Duties Include

  • To write, or learn to write, the programs for the machining of the required parts/components and to store and organise the programs in a systematic and efficient form.
  • To machine parts and components to defined specification in an efficient and timely manner. To include prototypes, pre-production and one-off products.
  • To carry out “First off” and “Post-Production” inspection of components and parts to include both dimensional and surface finish checks.
  • Carrying out corrective actions to overcome problems i.e. technical, timescale, quality which may arise within the Department.
  • Ensuring that tracking/build documentation is completed and progressed to such a standard that at any time it is possible to see the status of any Works Order progressing through the Machine Shop.

Experience And Qualification

  • Minimum Grade 7 Maths.
  • Experience of Fanuc 21iT and/or Siemens 828D controls, for small/medium batch work on Hardinge, Doosan and Colchester lathes would be advantageous.
