Job Overview

Are you an experienced Clinical Research Assistant looking for a career in research? Do you have experience with mental health services or with vulnerable adults in a research setting? The Research Delivery Team at Central and North West London NHS Trust is seeking an experienced researcher to support recruitment and coordination of complex interventional research within the Trust.

This position is hosted by Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust and supported by the North London Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN), part of the NIHR, established by the Department of Health to enhance research speed, quality, and integration, ultimately improving patient care.

The successful candidate may have contact with patients or service users. We strongly encourage vaccination to protect yourself, colleagues, and patients.

Main duties include:

  • Patient recruitment and retention
  • Attending multidisciplinary team meetings to identify suitable participants
  • Obtaining informed consent and providing support to research participants
  • Coordinating treatment, assessments, and follow-up in line with protocols
  • Supporting and supervising junior staff
  • Ensuring adherence to Good Clinical Practice and research governance
  • Supporting ethics and governance approvals
  • Data collection and management according to protocols and data protection laws
  • Assisting with clinical sample collection and dispatch

Additional responsibilities:

  • Service mapping and maintaining information systems
  • Contributing to research project management and dissemination
  • Supporting training and policy compliance
  • Resource management and development of research capacity

Person Specification

Qualifications:Degree or equivalent healthcare experience, ICH GCP certification.

Experience:Mental health research, patient recruitment, research delivery experience. Project management and knowledge of research processes are desirable.

Skills and Abilities:Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage data accurately; willingness to learn phlebotomy; ability to travel across London.
