Chemical Pathology Physician Needed For Centre For Obesity Management (Locum)

On behalf of the Centre for Obesity Management in West Midlands, I’m looking for an experienced Chemical Pathology Physician available full-time for an ongoing locum contract.

This is an ongoing locum role.

The job will involve:

  • Outpatients service – diabetic clinics / bariatric patients
  • Clinical Biochemistry Diagnostic Service
  • Clinical trials, clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching as needed

Ideal candidate will have FRCPath and MRCP, as well as experience in metabolic medicine, including:

  • Drug treatments such as insulin and lipid-regulating drugs
  • Enzyme replacement therapies for inherited metabolic diseases
  • Bariatric surgery for obesity, such as gastric bypass
  • Provision of nutritional support via PEG or TPN
  • Cardiovascular risk testing, e.g., for high cholesterol patients
  • Use of biologic treatments for cholesterol disorders
  • Dynamic or stress tests for various conditions

Local accommodation can be arranged.

Town-based hospital with amenities nearby and an international airport less than 30 minutes away.
