What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate, clean, and maintain pilot-scale bioreactors and associated systems
  • Support daily pilot plant tasks such as media preparation, sterilization, and equipment calibration
  • Collect and log process data, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Follow strict SOPs and safety protocols to ensure a compliant working environment
  • Assist in troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process development and testing
  • Keep clear records of pilot runs and operational activities

What We’re Looking For

  • A BSc or BEng in Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
  • Up to 2 years of hands-on experience in a lab, pilot plant, or production setting
  • Interest in scaling bioprocesses and working with larger equipment
  • Good understanding of process monitoring and bioreactor operations
  • A safety-first mindset and excellent attention to detail
  • Comfort with physical, hands-on work in a technical setting

Desirable (but Not Essential)

  • Experience with stainless steel bioreactors or pilot-scale systems
  • Familiarity with batch, fed-batch, or perfusion processes
  • Exposure to GMP or regulated environments
  • Experience with Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs)

Salary, Benefits & Location

  • Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)
  • Location: Oxford, UK
  • Benefits: Flexible working hours, health benefits, and learning & development opportunities
  • Work Environment: Innovative, inclusive, and mission-driven culture focused on sustainability and growth

Why Apply?

You’ll be joining a purpose-driven team working on technologies that address real-world challenges. Whether you're just starting out or looking to grow your experience, this role offers the chance to make a tangible impact while building valuable skills in bioprocessing and project support.
