Are you an experienced Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist seeking a new locum opportunity in West London? We have an excellent role offering competitive pay and great flexibility!

Job Title: Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist Band 6
Location: West London
Duration: 3-month rolling contract with potential for extension
Schedule: Monday – Sunday, 37.5 hours per week (core hours initially to then be moved to 24/7 rota once competencies complete)

Rate of Pay: £25 - £26 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist, you will be a vital part of a busy laboratory, contributing to high-quality diagnostic services. Your main responsibilities will include:



  • Conducting a range of biochemistry laboratory tests


  • Preparing and analysing blood and other biological samples for diagnostic purposes


  • Ensuring high standards in lab procedures and compliance with regulations


  • Supporting quality control initiatives


  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care


Requirements & Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist


  • IBMS Accredited Degree


  • 1-2 years of experience in a Biochemistry laboratory


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


  • A strong commitment to high-quality laboratory services


  • Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)


Working Hours & Contract Duration:

The role operates Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, initially core hours (9:00 - 17:00) to then move to a 24/7 rota once competencies are signed off. The contract will last for an initial 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
