Performing planned and reactive maintenance support to Automation and Business IT systems, to reduce the incidence of breakdowns and minimise plant disruption time. Performing improvements and changes to site Automation and Business IT systems and taking ownership of Automation related activities to facilitate the successful delivery of Capital and business IT systems projects.

Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on plant automation, business IT systems in accordance with EHS, GMP, GAMP and other regulatory requirements. Ensure all automation maintenance activities on business-critical plant and machinery are performed on time.

Taking responsibility for Automation activities relating to capital projects, according to business requirements and relevant with EHS, GMP, GAMP and other regulatory requirements.

Carrying out continuous improvement of automated systems and investigating appropriate novel innovative technologies and systems to enhance and improve business automation in accordance with EHS, GMP, GAMP and other regulatory requirements by engaging with suppliers and keeping informed of technology advances in the field.

Developing solutions when it is identified that reliability of Automation systems are impacted by obsolescence, failure of equipment and operation. Implementing identified changes, replacements and improvements in line with business requirements and relevant EHS, GMP, GAMP and other regulatory requirements

Supporting business IT systems that relate to plant operation by using automation knowledge to interface with other business functions to deliver systems that are in line with business requirements and relevant EHS, Engineering and Quality standards.

Minimum Required:Degree qualified in technically focused subject

Member of engineering body working towards chartership

Proven experience leading Automation/IT projects and maintenance.

Proven experience working with electrical control systems, PLC's and HMI's.

Proven experience working with serialisation tracking and vision systems.

Deep understanding of automation, controls and production IT systems

Strong experience of PLC, HMI and SCADA programming

High level of technical understanding of pharmaceutical processes and equipment requirements including Quality and EHS requirements

Knowledge of GAMP

Effective communicator

Team player

Effective problem-solving skills

Office based

Some time at suppliers, on plant

On-call shift pattern to provide CRITICAL only business support, 'out of hours' production operates 24/6
