Brief Description:
Responsible for managing international supply chain logistics for Jazz products in compliance with applicable GDP and other regulations.
Key responsibilities:
Developing and leading supply chain logistics strategies to meet current and future business needs

Identify, lead and contribute to supply chain logistics projects including network development, shipping route design and validation/qualification, temperature controlled logistics, international affiliate introduction, new product introduction etc

Identifying, contributing to and leading projects with other functions (such as Tech Ops, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Commercial etc) as required to achieve supply chain logistics objectives

Ensuring timely supply and distribution of compliant product to patients and achieving supply chain business objectives as required

Monitoring, reporting and managing supply chain logistics partner performance, including developing improvement plans where necessary

Managing relationships with supply chain logistics and distribution partners through regular, structured communication processes including face to face meetings as required

Managing logistics operations staff if required

Monitoring and recording, using appropriate systems, shipments of intermediate and finished products. Ensure accuracy of this information to assist with supply chain decision making.

Ensures international trade activities adhere to domestic and international regulations, minimizing risks and costs.

Working closely with commercial and other functions to obtain and interpret demand forecasts in order to manage positioning of product throughout the distribution supply chain

Maintaining compliance with GDP, trade, financial, customs and other requirements to ensure patient supply and meet business objectives

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Management of logistics providers (freight forwarders, Third-Party Logistics (3PL), customs brokers)
Work closely with logistics providers to ensure product availability and logistics efficiency

Provide management and oversight of logistics providers

Producing consolidated monthly performance reports to monitor logistics performance

Coordinate and lead performance review meetings with logistic providers to ensure excellent distribution services to meet the needs of Jazz and our patients

Act as a reference point for the logistics providers and manage the day-to day relationship.

Monitor logistics KPIs and performance metrics, provide feedback on logistics providers’ performance and escalate issues as required.

Identify and lead continuous improvements at logistics providers to ensure a smooth collaboration to meet patients’ needs.

Manage and follow-up quality issues and incidents with quality, actively participate to Corrective and Preventive Action Plans as needed.

Additional Business Support
Support other members of the logistics team as needed

Provide support and assistance to the broader Global Supply Chain

Support and provide backup to other Regions’ Customer Service colleagues as required.

Compliance with company approval and compliance processes.

Support pre commercial teams (Clinical, Development) and any other functions that require to move goods and materials internationally.

Some international travel will be required

Will work within a global organization including team members in other countries

Work collaboratively with Jazz colleagues, partners, customers and suppliers globally

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates will need the following attributes and experience:
Good knowledge of GDP practices and requirements

Understanding of import and export procedures and required documentation

Previous experience of temperature-controlled shipments across Air, Ocean and Truck modes

Experience working in a pharmaceutical environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Comfortable communicating to internal and external stakeholders of all levels

Good Analysis skills to evaluate multi-factor situations and work on problem resolution

Experience identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives

Respect and share the values of Jazz Pharmaceuticals

Ability to work with a cross-functional and multi-cultural Teams

Ability to work well and deliver under pressure

Highly motivated, enthusiastic and customers and patients oriented/focus

Proficient with MS Office and SAP

Excellent spoken/written English skills are essential

Required/Preferred Education
Degree in business management, logistics or a related discipline

Strong understanding of and experience in international pharmaceutical supply chain logistics including customs, regulatory, temperature controlled products

Jazz management competencies (technical, planning, communication, interpersonal, leading, judgment skills)
