Located within the grounds of Stepping Hill hospital is Stockport Pharmaceuticals Aseptic Services unit.

The unit is part of the regional NHS pharmaceutical production unit and holds Medicinal Product licenses with which the team provide a wide range of aseptic products both nationally and internally to the trust.

The Department is looking to recruit an Apprentice Science Manufacturing Operative.

The Apprentice Science Manufacturing Operative role is a graded as a agenda for change Band 2.

The training opportunity is an advanced apprenticeship, which involves on the job training whilst you study to achieve a Level 2 Certificate as Science Manufacturing Process Operative.

On completion of the apprenticeship programme and End Point Assessment (EPA), successful candidates will be able to apply for fulltime band 3 Science Manufacturing Process Operative role.

Training and support will be provided by work based assessors and the training provider.

  • Develop to work in a large licensed Aseptic facility that provides a wide range of products to Stockport NHS Trust and neighbouring trusts.
  • The Apprentice Science Manufacturing Operative will be develop to carry out the routine preparation of all aseptically prepared drugs in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • There is a requirement to carry out the technical skills necessary to perform these duties carefully and accurately, and to develop a conscientious attitude in order to provide a co-ordinated and effective service.

People without Relevant Aseptic experience will be considered as full training will be given to the successful candidate.

Working within a clean room environment attention to detail, manual dexterity and the ability to work in a controlled environment for long durations is essential.
