We are looking for an innovative Software Application Test Engineer (m/f/d) who strives to ensure that high quality products are designed, engineered, and manufactured at Agilent, in conformance with requirements, standards and regulations. The candidate may provide expertise, training, and consulting in quality processes and methods to build and maintain an user-oriented quality culture to the project teams involved. We are looking for a self-motivated and collaborative colleague with a sound understanding of software testing processes from start to finish who can apply a creative and proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and implementation of test campaigns to validate customer workflows across the Liquid Chromatography product portfolio within key Chromatography Data System and additional Applications.
  • Work with R&D engineers and Product Marketing to apply the correct test concepts for functional, system, workflow, and integration tests
  • Contributes to requirements definition based on test scenarios to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria and definition of done
  • Ensures traceability across requirements, test cases, and defects
  • Perform analysis of test results including deviations and defects from manual and automated tests
  • Collaborate with peer engineers to address issues and resolve problems
  • May review and approve peer test results and perform Project Notebook Audits
  • Produces and executes required Product Lifecycle documentation to ensure Agilent's quality metrics are met

Qualifications

  • A University Degree in a Life Sciences related field or alternatively in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Typically, 2 years of relevant experience
  • A genuine passion for Applications Development Testing
  • Usability and Quality should be a natural desire
  • Experience with Agile software development process
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory and analytical instrumentation especially Agilent LC instrumentation and OpenLAB CDS
  • Require basic quality management or specific knowledge with software test techniques and tools for requirements and test management like Jira
  • Experience with test automation or software programming skills are a plus
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills along with problem-solving skills and attention to details
  • Fluent English and German skills (written and verbal, level B1)
