As an Application Systems Specialist, you will analyse and define Business processes and contribute to solutions across various technologies supporting IT Services.

You will have a methodical approach to logically analyse Business processes and translate them into technical requirements and solutions for stakeholders.

You will act as the point of contact for the Application Systems Development Team, therefore, communication at all levels is key to this role’s success.

The role involves collaborating with the internal development team and Business units across IT Services, to define new processes that align with and support existing ones before development begins.

You will support requests throughout development by producing requirements, design and process mapping documentation that will be used by developers to aid their delivery. You will liaise between developers and stakeholders, providing updates and ensuring the solution meets the brief.

Becoming a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with development teams in different locations, and potentially third parties to research and recommend solutions.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

  • Relevant commercial experience as a Product or Business Analyst.
  • Experience writing business requirements and technical documentation.
  • Ability to understand technical terminology and communicate it effectively to non-technical staff.
  • Planning and estimating deliverables and proficient in cost-benefit analysis.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Ability to react well to rapidly changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of a recognised IT Service Management system, general request fulfilment or asset management.
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio or similar process mapping tools.
  • Experience with an array of different automation technologies including Robotic Process Automation (RPA) would be advantageous.

What you will do

  • Writing both technical and non-technical documents to a high standard.
  • Chairing process mapping sessions.
  • Gaining a detailed understanding of the current product suite to provide valuable insight and guidance to the team and the wider Business.
  • Producing and maintaining post-release documentation and change capture.
  • Integrating into the development function to provide a link between the wider Business and their requirements, and the technical information required by the team.
  • Ensuring that requirements from the Business are accurate and complete while understanding the feasibility of the software and products, to communicate accurately with all parties.
  • Applying active governance around process and delivery.
  • Being an active communicator on progress in delivering, both internal and external to the team.
  • Working closely with Business users and IT to ensure timely delivery.
  • Liaising with Test Analysts to articulate the requirements and success criteria.
