osition
As AI/ML Engineer with a Platform focus you will be driving the architecture and implementation of a platform that enables Novo Nordisk to utilise its vast data assets. You will be instrumental in building the foundations that enable AI/ML applications across the enterprise, ultimately benefiting our patients.
In your role you will provide technical guidance, coaching, and motivation to a team of skilled AI/ML engineers and cloud developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Moreover, you will:
Design, build, deploy and maintain an AI/ML platform serving across business domains while driving strategic AI initiatives in collaboration with other departments.
Define standards and best practices around end-to-end AI/ML operations and processes by optimization and collaboration with partners.
Engage and collaborate with stakeholders and both technical and non-technical colleagues, assisting in understanding AI/ML opportunities in the enterprise and how to enable them.
Stay abreast of technological advancements, recommend innovations to enhance our AI/ML platform capabilities and maintain a strong international network in relevant technological fields.
Build local competencies through training and knowledge sharing, collaborating with leading external partners from academia and industry to build and maintain leadership in AI/ML.
Qualifications
You are a proactive, driven individual with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement and embraced collaboration who can effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. You have a a deep understanding of AI/ML systems, the journey from experimentation to production deployment. Along the degree in computer science, software development or engineering, we expect you to meet the following qualification:
Several years of professional experience in technical solution architecture, development and deployment, and leading technical teams operating in a regulated environment
Extensive knowledge of leading cloud providers, preferably Azure and Databricks.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in problem-solving along with coding skills and ability to inspire excellent engineering practices.
Hands-on experience with cloud agnostic infrastructure as code.
Experience with cloud and on-premises High Performance Compute.
Significant experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration tools.
Deep technical understanding of AI/ML systems and architecture at enterprise scale.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle in the life sciences industry and applied AI/ML.
Understanding of pharmaceutical value chain and how to collaborate across the enterprise to bring change and accelerate impact.

About the Department
Our department comprises four key teams: AI Engineering, AI Enablement, Responsible AI, and Intelligent Automation, collaborating on everything from AI innovation and infrastructure to deploying cutting-edge AI products. Our work spans research, commercial, and production environments, with a core focus on industrialising and democratising AI across Novo Nordisk, as part of the Global Data & AI area. We leverage scalable data platforms, MLOps, reference architectures, and modular components across the entire data and ML lifecycle. We are cloud-native, primarily working with Databricks, AWS and MS Azure. We embrace agility, diverse thinking, and continuous learning, fostering a culture of feedback, honesty, and fun.
