EMBRACE is a visionary, multicomponent International research programme, the first of its kind in the world, supported by Inkfish with £35M core funds over six years, starting in April 2025. It is a global study of 60,000 participants, including 20,000 mothers, 20,000 infants and up to 20,000 partners. It brings together world-leading clinician scientists across six distinguished Healthcare organisations, world-leading AI & technology companies, together with premier biotech companies, with the overarching aim to fast-track major scientific breakthroughs, revolutionise maternal and early childhood health through precision-personalised interventions, powered by a groundbreaking symbiosis of cutting-edge AI combined with human support.About the roleThe post of Senior Research Scientist in Digital Health and AI Platform Lead is a senior role on the EMBRACE study led by Professor Josip Car. This is a research post with both research and operational responsibilities, including delivering against research objectives, providing technical leadership with strategic oversight, vendor management, and ensuring alignment between the digital platform and research objectives. You will drive the design, development, and implementation of scalable AI-driven platforms that support translational research, clinical decision support, and patient-centric digital health solutions. You will work cross-functionally with data scientists, clinical researchers, software engineers, product managers, and external partners to conceptualise and deliver novel AI technologies. This role demands both deep scientific understanding and strong technical leadership, with the ability to navigate complex datasets, ensure model robustness and compliance, and align digital innovation with unmet clinical and healthcare needs. This is a high-impact position offering the opportunity to shape the future of digital health and precision medicine through responsible AI, translational insights, and scalable digital infrastructure. This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31st July 2029.
