Description
This is a highly visible commercial role focused on growing sales of specialist laboratory, pharmaceutical, and capital equipment solutions across the UK life sciences market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving sales growth across a portfolio of laboratory, pharmaceutical, and technical capital equipment solutions.
- Developing new business opportunities with pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechnology companies, CDMOs, research laboratories, universities, healthcare organisations, and other life sciences customers.
- Building relationships with key decision-makers across scientific, engineering, operations, manufacturing, procurement, and leadership functions.
- Managing the full sales process from prospecting and qualification through to proposal development, negotiation, and contract award.
- Growing existing customer relationships whilst identifying opportunities for additional revenue and strategic partnerships.
- Working closely with internal technical and commercial teams to deliver tailored customer solutions.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and customer developments to identify new commercial opportunities and support future growth plans.
Profile
We are interested in speaking with individuals with a successful track record in business development / technical sales with experience selling laboratory equipment, scientific instrumentation, pharmaceutical equipment, cleanroom solutions, engineering solutions, capital equipment, or other technical products into regulated industries.
You will likely demonstrate:
- Experience selling into pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, healthcare, scientific research, or related technical markets.
- Strong new business development and prospecting skills, combined with an ability to build lasting customer relationships.
- Experience managing consultative sales processes involving multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles.
- A commercial, self-motivated, and highly driven approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and internationally as required.

Direct experience within the life sciences sector would be advantageous, although candidates from adjacent capital equipment and technical sales backgrounds will also be considered.
Job Offer
Competitive salary of £72,000 - £96,000 depending on experience
