The Faculty of Engineering & Science is one of four faculties at the University of Greenwich, split across two campuses – the Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime, Kent, and the Greenwich Campus in Greenwich, London. Dedicated to inspirational learning, combining teaching with work placements and impactful research and is a complete hub for all STEM subjects within the University.

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Technician within the Faculty of Engineering & Science to provide specialist technical support for teaching and research activities in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chemistry. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the student learning experience and supporting a range of research projects. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with and support the Biosciences Technical Team across a variety of teaching activities.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of practical teaching sessions for foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate students. This will include providing technical guidance and demonstrating the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment, techniques, and methodologies relevant to the disciplines.

Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of laboratory preparation and support, including setting up & dismantling practical classes, preparing reagents and materials, maintaining equipment and consumable stock levels, and ensuring laboratories operate efficiently and safely. The successful candidate will also provide technical advice and support to students and academic staff during laboratory teaching sessions & research activities.

We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual with excellent organisational, communication, & interpersonal skills. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, whilst demonstrating initiative and adaptability, is essential. The successful candidate will have a positive and flexible approach to their work and be capable of managing a diverse range of tasks and priorities in a dynamic laboratory environment.
