A leading, research-driven biopharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist – In-Vivo Pharmacology to join its Immunology Discovery team.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the discovery and early development of innovative small molecules and biologics targeting immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. The role is hands-on and delivery-focused, playing a critical part in generating high-quality in vivo data to support key project decisions.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Scientist within the In Vivo Pharmacology group, you will:

  • Design, plan, and execute in vivo studies to support target identification, validation, and translational pharmacology.

  • Apply strong expertise in immunology models, ensuring robust experimental design and scientific rigor.

  • Generate, analyse, and interpret complex in vivo datasets to drive project progression.

  • Support the establishment, optimisation, and validation of in vivo models.

  • Oversee outsourced studies with CRO partners where required.

  • Contribute to cross-functional project teams, providing scientific insight to inform decision-making.

  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, ethical, and animal welfare standards.

  • Maintain clear documentation and contribute to reports, study summaries, and presentations.

You will work closely with internal project teams, matrix functions, and external collaborators in a highly collaborative research environment.

    The ideal candidate will have:

  • A PhD (or equivalent) in Pharmacology, Immunology, or a related discipline.

  • Postdoctoral or industry experience within drug discovery.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in in vivo pharmacology, particularly within immunology and inflammatory disease models.

  • Demonstrated ability to design rigorous in vivo experiments and interpret complex biological data.

  • Experience with in vivo cell depletion models (desirable).

  • A Home Office Project Licence (or eligibility to obtain one).

  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach with high attention to data quality and scientific standards.

  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
