Senior Electrical Engineer (Construction and Electrical Contracting)

Location: Limerick, Ireland

Role Purpose
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client's team and lead the engineering activities on specific construction projects. This role involves coordinating technical design with onsite installation and ensuring the successful commissioning of electrical systems. The scope of responsibilities will be agreed upon with the Project Manager on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

Conduct electrical design reviews to identify design gaps and discrepancies.
Validate cable and containment sizing, providing recommendations as necessary.
Complete and manage electrical technical submittals and assessments.
Drive value engineering opportunities and proposals.
Track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment, ensuring receipt verification.
Participate in and document supply chain meetings to maintain progress.
Update system trackers aligned with the construction schedule.
Manage and coordinate CAD/BIM models, ensuring constructability and adequate maintenance space.
Liaise with the design team and supply chain to ensure system operability on-site.
Conduct system walk-downs to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings.
Oversee specialist vendors during commissioning to ensure timely completion.
Prepare test packs, FTOPs, and O&M manuals for approval.
Provide technical reviews of tenders as needed.
Mentor junior and graduate engineers.
Deliver client training per agreed training plans.
Maintain quality standards aligned with ISO 9001:2015.Requirements

Minimum of 6 years' industry experience.
Relevant third-level electrical engineering qualification (trade background advantageous).
Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit/Navisworks is a plus.
Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
Competence in Microsoft Office and IT systems.About the Role
