Isomorphic Labs is applying frontier AI to help unlock deeper scientific insights, faster breakthroughs, and life-changing medicines with an ambition to solve all disease.

The future is coming. A future enabled and enriched by the incredible power of machine learning. A future in which diseases are curtailed or cured starting with better and faster drug discovery.

Come and be part of an interdisciplinary team driving groundbreaking innovation and play a meaningful role in contributing towards us achieving our ambitious goals, while being a part of an inspiring and collaborative culture.

The world we want tomorrow is the one we’re building today. It starts with the culture at this company. It starts with you.

About Iso

Isomorphic Labs (IsoLabs) was launched in 2021 to advance human health by building on and beyond the Nobel-winning AlphaFold system. Since then, our interdisciplinary team of drug discovery experts and machine learning specialists has built powerful new predictive and generative AI models that accelerate scientific discovery at digital speed.

Our name comes from the belief that there is an underlying symmetry between biology and information science. By harnessing AI’s powerful capabilities, we can use it to model complex biological phenomena to help design novel molecules, anticipate how drugs will perform and develop innovative medicines to treat and cure some of the world’s most devastating diseases.

We have built a world-leading drug design engine comprising AI models that are capable of working across multiple therapeutic areas and drug modalities. We are continually innovating on model architecture and developing cutting-edge capabilities to advance rational drug design.

Every day, and with each new breakthrough, we’re getting closer to the promise of digital biology, and achieving our ambitious mission to one day solve all disease with the help of AI.

Your impact

In the Product Engineering team we help scientists leverage the latest drug design capabilities and accelerate their workflows by providing tools and insights at each step of the drug discovery pipeline. As a part of this team you will be working on developing various aspects of our world-class AI-powered drug design platform.

You will be working in a highly creative, iterative environment, alongside engineers, scientists and ML researchers to develop a world-class product, with collaboration across both our London and Lausanne offices. We’re still at a relatively early stage in our journey, with a level of ambiguity as we continuously learn from each other, so you will need to build on your previous experience and show initiative in order to fully carve out your contribution in this newly created role.

What you will do

  • Design and develop software products to solve real-world scientific user needs.
  • Collaborate with scientific end-users to understand their domain and requirements.
  • Partner with the Product team to design compelling and intuitive user experiences.
  • Architect cloud-native applications, workloads and libraries.
  • Model data in transactional and analytical data stores.
  • Contribute to the design/implementation of web application interfaces.
  • Collaborate with multiple other engineering teams to deliver the best results.

Skills and qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience building web applications and working in rapid iterative environments.
  • Demonstrable experience leading software projects or in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven experience writing production code in a mainstream language, ideally TypeScript or Python.
  • Strong software engineering and design skills, from UI to databases.
  • Knowledge of data storage modelling paradigms and trade-offs.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure
  • Either a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Enthusiasm to learn about chemistry and biology

Nice to have:

  • Hands on experience with Python / Typescript / Postgres / GraphQL / Kubernetes / React
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry / biology
  • Experience developing internal tools
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, ideally with a focus on drug discovery
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform

Creating an extraordinary company

We believe that to be successful we need a team with a range of skills and talents. We're building an environment where collaboration is fundamental, learning is shared and every employee feels supported and able to thrive. We value unique experiences, knowledge, backgrounds, and perspectives, and harness these qualities to create extraordinary impact.

We are committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding) or any other basis protected by applicable law. If you have a disability or additional need that requires accommodation, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Hybrid working

It’s hugely important for us to share knowledge and build strong relationships with each other, and we find it easier to do this if we spend time together in person. This is why we follow a hybrid model, andwould require you to be able to come into the office 3 days a week (currently Tuesday, Wednesday, and one other day depending on which team you’re in). If you have additional needs that would prevent you from following this hybrid approach, we’d be happy to talk through these if you’re selected for an initial screening call.

Please note that when you submit an application, your data will be processed in line with our privacy policy.

Where to Advertise Biotech Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising biotech jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool spans life scientists, computational biologists, regulatory specialists and biomanufacturing engineers — each with distinct professional networks and job search behaviours. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that biotech professionals expect. Specialist platforms, academic channels and sector-specific communities each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by BiotechnologyJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise biotech roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Biotech Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Biotechnology is creating jobs at a rate that few other sectors can match. New disciplines are emerging from research labs and entering commercial hiring pipelines, existing roles are fragmenting into deeper specialisms, and the technologies driving it all — from AI-assisted drug discovery to next-generation gene editing — are advancing faster than the workforce can keep pace with. For job seekers, this creates an unusual challenge. In most industries, career planning means navigating a relatively familiar landscape and identifying where your skills fit. In biotech, that landscape is being actively redrawn. The roles generating the most hiring activity in 2028 may look quite different from the ones appearing in job adverts today. That's not a reason to feel overwhelmed — it's a reason to get informed. The candidates who thrive in this market aren't always those with the longest CVs or the most letters after their name. They're the ones who understand where the sector is heading: which disciplines are gaining commercial traction, which technologies are driving employer demand, and how the definition of a "biotech job" is expanding well beyond traditional pharmaceuticals and research roles. This article breaks down what the UK biotech jobs market is likely to look like over the next three years — covering emerging job titles, the technologies reshaping hiring, the skills employers are prioritising right now, and how to position your career ahead of the curve rather than behind it.
