Advanced Biomedical Technology | West London full time on site

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing company at the forefront of advanced biomedical engineering.

Are you an HNC (or higher) qualified engineer with at least one year of practical experience?

Do you enjoy solving problems, thinking independently, and making tangible improvements?

Would you like to work for a cutting-edge biomedical company transforming healthcare?

If so, this could be the opportunity for you.

The Company

An innovative West London–based biomedical start-up, is designing and manufacturing advanced laboratory and clinical cell-manufacturing equipment. Their technology is revolutionising healthcare by automating the production of stem cells with minimal human intervention.

Their systems integrate, mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, robotics/mechatronics, control and instrumentation technology

The Role

As an Engineering Technician, you will work across a broad range of activities including:

  • Mechanical assembly of enclosures, structures, robotic components, small drives and actuators, PCBAs and small looms assemblies

  • In house and client-based fault finding, rectification and diagnostics

  • Supplier liaison – purchasing and bought-out non-conformities

  • Component-level testing and commissioning

This is a hands-on, varied position within a highly technical and fast-moving environment. Full training and instruction will be given and previous medical or assembly experience is NOT essential

    What We’re Looking For

The bar is high — but open to all backgrounds, even Selection is based on what you can demonstrate now.

    Essential Requirements:

  • HNC, Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.

  • Good understanding of engineering principles

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings inc some knowledge of BS8888,

  • Minimum 1 year (or many) of practical engineering experience (eg assembly, manufacturing, machining, test, design or similar) within instrumentation, medical, robotic, aerospace, avionics, defence, nuclear, motorsport or any regulated industry

  • Demonstrated ability to apply original thought and affect change (not simply follow instructions)

  • Strong structured thinking — able to explain reasoning clearly (e.g. using “5 Whys” problem-solving)

  • Clear, concise and effective communication skills within a benevolent and team-focused environment

  • Right to work in UK indefinitely

  • Commutable of west London or willing to relocate

    Desirable

  • 3 years plus experience as a technician within an instrumentation, process control, medical devices, robotic or fluidic systems environment

  • Ability to read simple electrical/fluid schematics and use hand tools

  • soldering to IPC level

  • manual/low volume machining

  • light fabrication

  • ISO EN 13485

We’re looking for individuals with curiosity, structured thinking, and the confidence to improve procedures— not just maintain them.

    Why Apply?

  • Join a mission-driven biomedical company making a real difference to patients’ lives

  • Working in west central London

  • Work on advanced, multidisciplinary systems in a varied role

  • Be part of a growing, innovative team

  • Contribute meaningfully from day one

    How to Apply

Please include a short covering paragraph within your CV explaining why you are suitable for this role. (If you’ve read this far — this is essential.)
