Analytical Scientist

An exciting opportunity for a graduate or early-career scientist to join a growing biotechnology company developing innovative technologies for the cell and gene therapy sector.
This role would suit someone with a strong grounding in analytical laboratory techniques who is looking to broaden their technical expertise within a collaborative R&D environment. Candidates with experience of techniques such as HPLC, ELISA, ITC, SPR, spectroscopy or similar analytical methods are encouraged to apply, as full training will be provided on the specialist techniques used within the role.
Responsibilities
- Planning and conducting laboratory experiments
- Preparing samples, reagents and assay materials
- Operating analytical instrumentation and generating scientific data
- Analysing, interpreting and presenting experimental results
- Maintaining accurate laboratory records and documentation
- Supporting method improvement and troubleshooting activities
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams
- Working to SOPs, Health & Safety and quality standards
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline
- Practical laboratory experience gained through university, placement, postgraduate research or industry
- Experience with analytical instrumentation and scientific data analysis
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm for learning new analytical techniques and developing technical expertise
Solid foundational experience with a few of the following HPLC, ELISA, ITC, SPR, spectroscopy, biomolecule analysis, binding studies or kinetic assays would be beneficial but is not essential.
