Overview

Subsea7 are looking to add new talent to our UK & Global Inspection, Repair & Maintenance (IRM) Sales and Marketing Team and as such, we have two fantastic opportunities for Tendering Professionals to join us and be based in our Westhill office on a full-time, staff basis.

The Tendering team are responsible for the preparation, writing, coordination, and negotiation of tenders, including cost estimation, commercial, contract and risk reviews in support of Subsea7's SURF and Global IRM business.

Depending on experience you will join as a Senior Tendering Specialist or Tendering Specialist. These roles will be a great opportunity for candidates to gain commercial experience and exposure to a variety of clients, internal functions, and Subsea7 Senior Management. The Tendering team have direct involvement in estimating and implementing the tendering process and will be involved with most facets of the UK/Canada/Northern Europe and Global IRM business.

We are keen to encourage candidates from a variety of backgrounds who feel they match the skills and experience for the roles but would be especially keen to encourage applications from professionals with estimating or costing experience.

What will you be doing?

These roles will be highly varied but some of the main responsibilities will be:

  • Involvement at all stages of tender preparation for potential Oil/Gas and Renewable Developments from Early Engagement through to Late Life interventions, as well as Decommissioning Projects.
  • Assist the Field Developments Group with preparation of cost estimates and cost reports in support of Concept, Feasibility, pre-FEED and FEED Studies.
  • Prepare accurate and economic costing of tenders with due regard to risk assessment, competitor positions, supply chain and market trends.
  • Organise the workload of the tender team to achieve tender completion on time in order that the necessary approvals are obtained prior to submission to clients.
  • Preparation of internal tender authorisation papers, presentations and documents which may include presenting or supporting presentations to Senior and Executive Management.
  • Development of winning bid documentation for submission to Clients.
  • Assist in the negotiation of terms and conditions of tenders with clients to achieve the best commercial, technical, and contractual position.

    What experience would we like you to have?

  • Relevant previous experience in a tendering environment and ability to demonstrate estimating skills. A background in use of Excel or specific estimating software is essential.
  • Ideally degree qualified in a relevant subject, however consideration will also be given to candidates who are qualified by experience.
  • Where appropriate for level of experience and position, proven ability to review and qualify contracts.
  • It is essential that candidates are in possession of advanced communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to allow effective interaction with people at various levels within the organisation and externally.
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to review work methods in support of continually developing smart and efficient work methods.
  • Keen to share learning and experience with others to promote continuous improvement and knowledge transfer within the organisation.
  • Desire to contribute to the day-to-day workings of the wider tendering team and, where appropriate for level of experience and position, contribute to supervision, mentoring and development of other team members.
