LOCATION:/nHertfordshire and surrounding areas

WORKING HOURS:/nFull Time – Monday to Friday – will require flexible approach to/nhours and involve working and staying away (all expenses and food and/nmeal allowances covered by employer) /n

THE COMPANY: MMM/nMedical Equipment UK Limited supply highly engineered decontamination/nequipment and services to the healthcare, pharmaceutical, laboratory/nand research sectors. They work to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001/nstandards.

MMM Medical Equipment/nUK Limited are leaders in their field and due to continued growth are/nnow looking to expand their team of experienced Service Engineers/nand they now have an exciting new opportunity for Apprentice Service/nEngineer to join their existing team. This would be a fantastic/nopportunity for an engineering / electrical minded individual to/nstart and build a career with a company who are leaders in their/nfield. As an Apprentice Service Engineer you will be partnered with/nan experienced Medical Service Engineer

Both roles will be home/nbased and will travel throughout Hertfordshire and surrounding areas,/nas well as other parts of the UK and will involve spending time away/nfrom home regularly. In return our client offers a generous salary/nplus company vehicle and ongoing product and self-improvement/ntraining programmes as well as covering all expenses and food and/nmeal allowances when staying away.

THE ROLE: As an/nApprentice Service Engineer / Medical Service Engineer you will be/nresponsible for working on a range of medical equipment including/nSteam Sterilizers, Instrument Washer Disinfectors, Endoscope Washer/nDisinfectors, and on Steam Generation plants.

Key Responsibilities/nfor the Apprentice Service Engineer / Medical Service Engineer in/nHertfordshire and surrounding areas:

  • Be resourceful, show initiative,/n/tand can deal with multiple tasks and work under pressure/n/t
    /n
  • Be tasked with performing/n/tcommissioning, validation, planned preventative maintenance and/n/treactive breakdown and repair activities to products located at/n/tcustomers’ premises/n/t
    /n
  • Be home based and you will travel/n/tthroughout the UK; this post involves spending time away from home/n/tregularly/n
    /n

    THE CANDIDATE:/nThe successful Medical Service Engineer must be qualified by/nexperience or have a minimum of an ONC or City and Guilds/nqualification in a relevant Engineering subject, and must have/nsignificant experience with automated systems, steam, compressor,/npumps or other relevant industries. You must have completed a time/nserved apprenticeship or have relevant working experience in a/nsimilar role and will ideally have experience of working within an/nISO registered environment. It is essential you have valid UK driving/nlicence, good IT skills, and excellent communication skills and have/nthe self-motivation and the ability to work as an individual or as/npart of a team. Although not essential candidates with electrical/nexperience would be highly desirable. /n

    If you’re applying/nfor the Apprentice Service Engineer position, you will ideally have a/nGrade C / 4 or above GCSE (or equivalent qualification) and will need/nto be resourceful, show initiative, good analytical skills and that/nyou can deal with multiple tasks and work under pressure. You should/nbe someone who has an inquisitive mind and who has a natural passion/nfor engineering and any hands on experience, for example in re wiring/nor equipment, stripping of cars / engines or other engineering/nprincipals would be welcomed. You must be someone who is reliable,/npunctual, is IT literate and is committed to attending college or/nappropriate training establishments as required. Candidates must also/nbe able to work individually as well as part of team and will ideally/nhave a valid UK Driving Licence, but is not essential.
