Our Technical services team are made up of Service Experts - technicians and scientists - who will be responsible for the customer support in order to provide effective support for our pathology laboratory solutions.

Location: The role covers the North UK region. This would be North of England and Scotland.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced biomedical scientist or application support scientist to join Diagnostics as a Product Specialist - Applications. This exciting position is part of field support in Roche, responsible for technical service cover for primarily focused on cobas chemistry and immunoassay analysers and our pre- & post analytical solutions. This team plays a key part in the implementation of installation projects, troubleshooting investigations and system modifications, building strong customer relationships to help deliver a high standard of service.

As a Product Specialist - Applications you will undertake a variety of user support functions, including:

Installation support
Laboratory scientist training
Troubleshooting and customer support
Software modifications and product maintenance
System optimization and consultancy
System setup and workflow design
Attend customer review meetings
Support on tender responses, product demonstrations, liaison and assistance with third party companies.You should be resilient, and tenacious. You strive under pressure, working effectively as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines. With strong analytical skills, you are at ease working with technical, scientific and numeric information. You will be to working closely with the wider team and all other areas of Roche to provide excellent support for our customers.

You will be based in Scotland or willing to relocate with easy access to motorway links to allow travel across the mainland UK to support customers. Travel to the North of England will also be required on occasion.

Career Opportunity

You need to possess a thorough understanding of the medical diagnostics industry and have experience in implementing best in class laboratory practices either from a hospital laboratory or at similar diagnostics solution providers.
You will have the ability to provide effective support for pathology laboratory solutions and excel in the art of troubleshooting.
The successful candidate should be motivated by exceeding customer expectations, with the capability of working with minimum supervision and managing your time effectively. You should take ownership and pride in your work and the ability to plan your work schedule and extensive travel arrangements autonomously.
You will be required to maintain individual skills and technical knowledge and develop a relationship with customers to enhance the reputation and professionalism of Roche Diagnostics.
